know the SPF you need

*summer is back, and stepping out without putting on a sunscreen means you are likely to do a lot of damage to your skin, every sunscreen contains spf(sun protection factor),a number that let's you know how long you can stay out in the sun without burning your skin, for instance,if your skin starts turning red after 10 minutes in the sun,an spf of 15 allows you to stay out for 150 minutes wihout burning.
]*skin experts recommend that everyone should use atleast spf 15 before they step out in sun,if you are going to spend a lot of time out in the sun,use spf 30 or higher.,whichever spf value that you use,be sure to reapply the sunscreen every two hours, else its effect wear off, even if the suncreen is waterproff, you need to apply it every two hours as it comes off because of water and sweat.
*mixing products with spf does not necessarily add upto higher protection, for instance, using an spf 15 moisturiser with an spf 15 sunscreen does not result in spf 30 protection.
*spf has its limitation though,it only measures the protection yo get from uvb, which are the sun ray's that cause burning,an spf does not tell you how much protection,if any,you are getting from the sun's uva rays which are responsible for tanning, and premature aging of the skin,to ensure you are protected against uva as well uvb, make sure that your sunscreen contains avobenzone, titanium dioxide,or zinc oxide.
*tips for sunscreen use:
a.don't skip areas including ears and lips, all exposed parts of your body needs sunscreen.
b.while sunburns are immediate signs, without regular sunscren use,you could eventually see wrinkles, skin discolouration, and skin cancer.sun damage acumulates over the years.
c.to ensure that you get the amount of spf on the product label, you need to apply it generously and evenly all over your skin.put on sunscreen at leat 20 minutes before you go outside ,because the chemicals need time to bond with your skin before they are totally effective.

vessel of choice

A:non-stick:utensils are not really harmful, but they need to be used with a lot of caution.one should never leave and empty non-stick pan or utensil on the stove for more than 5 minutes, because after it reaches an extereme temperature, the teflon melts and leaks into the food in small quantities."teflon reaching the food can be carcinogenic.one should not use metal spoons to stir the food in non-stick vessels, scratching the coating can cause it to come off and get mixed in the food.

B:aluminium:because these utensils are light weight, cheap, rust free, and easily available, their use has increased a lot over the last decade.however aluminium utensils can be very harmful, cos aluminium readily reacts with oxygen present in the atmosphere and produce aluminium oxide, which form layers on the utensil's surface.when we eat the food made in aluminium utensils, the aluminium enters and get accumulated inside our body, and can serously affect the brain, affect neurons and cause dementia.it can also result in renal failure, also neutralises the vitamins and minerals present in the food,so food materials like tea, salt, soda, lemon, tamarind, and tomato should not be cooked or kept in aluminium vessels.

C:copper:vessels are commonly used for storing food and water, drinking water from a copper cup is said to purify the blood and remove toxins from the body, storing water in a copper vessel, however can prove to be harmful if the vessel is not washed regularly,so that no deposits remain.the water or food from unwashed copper vessel can cause stomach ailments.

D:iron:when cooked on a high flame, iron leakes into the food, the increase in the iron levels in the body may make us more susceptible to cvs disorders.

E:steel:stainless steel is the safest type of utensil to be used for cooking, food cooked in stainless steel at a normal, domestic cooking temperature absorbs nickel(an ingredient of steel),but the level is much below the harmful limits allowed in the human body, one must however, make sure that the steel utensils you buy are isi marked.

eat banana

eat bananas and you will never go bananas
-- after reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.
*first of all, never keep your bananas in the refrigerator. just leave them out at room temperature.bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. no wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. but energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. it can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet. some of these are detailed below:-
*depression: according to a recent survey undertaken by mind amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. this is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
*anemia: high in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
*blood pressure: this unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. so much so, the us food and drug adm. has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.brain power: 200 students at a twickenham (middlesex) school ( england ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
*constipation: high in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives..
*hangovers: one of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. the banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
*heartburn: bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
*nerves: bananas are high in b vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
*ulcers: the banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. it is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. it also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
*temperature control: many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. in thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
*seasonal affective disorder (sad): bananas can help sad sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
"*smoking &tobacco use: bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking.. the b6, b12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
*strokes: according to research in the new england journal of medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
*warts: those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
--so, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. when you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin a and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. it is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. so maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "a banana a day keeps the doctor away!"
--bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! i will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? take the inside of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. amazing fruit !!!

hypoplastic uterus

the presence of small uterus is usually associated with presence of small ovaries too. an abnormally small uterus will not have an adequate and healthy endometrium. generally, in the process of menstruation, the uterus sheds of its endometrial lining, if the natural conception fails, that is when the implantation of the embryo does not occur. the shedding of the endometrial lining associated with rupture of fine blood capillaries leads to menstrual bleeding. a small uterus obviously will not be able to do normal physiological function such as menstruation, due to the inadequate endometrial lining in the uterus and insufficient secretion of female sex hormones. in women, gokshura single or in compound is beneficial to the uterus, as it boosts the growth of uterus by its anabolic and rejuvenative properties. it is the best drug for infantile or hypoplastic uterus, when combined with satavari, asvagandha and yastimadhu. it helps to prevent abortion by cheching the bleeding and nourshies the genital system. in the males, it is effectively used in impotency with honey. goksura effectively controls the bleeding, hence is invaluable in raktapitta, haematuria when used with milk.

action of shilajatu in prameha

according to researches shilajeet has pancreatotrophic action and promotes weight gain, likewise shilajit did not show antioxidative activity, the preventive action of shilajit on diabetes is mainly focused on the th1 and th2 cell activities, since th2 cells activity was found to be significantly upregulated, shilajit, however, showed a mild action in controlling the blood sugar level in young, old, and mild diabetic rats, but not in the severe diabetic rats,it also stimulated the nitric oxide production in macrophages, based on these evidences, the antidiabetic activities of shilajit appear to be immunomodulative probably by protecting or strengthening insulin-producing b-cells in the pancreas, further systematic research on constituents of shilajit and its quality evaluation is necessary to enable the use of natural medicines in the treatment of diabetes.

»
chemistry of shilajeet:shilajeet contains more than 85 minerals in ionic form. fulvic acid concentration in shilajeet is anything between 65 to 75 %. the minerals in shilajeet are not similar to the mineral supplements available in market. these minerals are in ionic form and have previously absorbed by rich plant life and returned back to earth. so they are easily absorbed by the body cells. fulvic acid the major ingredient of shilajeet plays a vital role in penetrating the cell walls and transporting the minerals into the cells. this is the most important property of shilajeet that helps arrest and reserve aging process. shilajeet also contains many other biochemicals mainly humic acid, uronic acid, hippuric acid, benzopyrins, phenolic glycosides and amino acids

ayurvedic practitioners attack diabetes using a multiprong approach. first, they address diet modification, eliminating sugar and simple carbohydrates, and emphasizing complex carbohydrates. protein is limited, since excessive intake can damage the kidneys. fat is also limited because there is often a deficiency of pancreatic enzymes, making fat digestion difficult. since many diabetics have autoantibodies, a cleansing program is instituted. panchakarma is typically used for this purpose.
